The Horse & Jockey is a popular pub located in the heart of Wrexham Town Centre. The 16th century Inn, which is a focal point in the town due to its thatched roof, benefits from lots of passing traffic thanks to shoppers and visitors to Wrexham and is also well supported by a core group of locals. Trade is made up of both food and drinks sales and there is potential to increase sales and profitability of the food side of the business by focusing on a well thought-out value for money food offer, which Star can support with. The pub does well when showing sport and hosting karaoke etc and a well thought out 'rhythm of the week' entertainment programme including quiz nights, live music and charity events would help consistently boost mid-week trade. The in going licensee will need to work up a business plan focusing on how to further unlock the potential this well-established pub has to offer.

Trading Area & Facilities

The pub is a sizeable open plan operation and has a very traditional feel, the stone floors and wooden beams help provide a warm and welcoming ambience. Entrance is directly off the high street into the main trading area, with the bar to the left hand side. The various nooks and snugs of the trade space help generate a cosy feeling and these are well zoned into clear drinking and eating areas. Towards the back of the pub is the dining area with approximately 30 covers. The kitchen and prep area is on the first floor with the cellar on the ground floor.
