Established Modern Business Ready to Trade

The Fellsider was refurbished in 2016 and is a well-established modern local pub with food located in the heart of a large residential estate in Whickham. Whickham is a small, affluent commuter town located five miles south west of Newcastle Upon Tyne and this combined with easy access to excellent schools, transport, shops (Gateshead Metrocentre 3 miles) and local leisure facilities, means Whickham is a popular family place to live. This family and dog friendly pub forms part of a small shopping centre, consisting of a supermarket, newsagent and post office, and enjoys a high profile position on the corner of two busy roads.

The pub has built a good reputation for its traditional home cooked pub classics & tasty Sunday lunch, served alongside a mainstream range of drinks, with some premium offers. The pub shows live sports, as well as providing entertainment including live music and quiz nights. The current offer works well, but there is opportunity to introduce an appealing cocktail offer and more varied premium spirit range, including a gin range, to really drive the premium aspect of this popular community pub.

We are looking for an operator with passion and drive to run a successful community pub. Experience is not essential, but you must have a welcoming personality and work to high standards of quality and service. Previous catering experience is preferred.

Trading Area & Facilities

Internally, the Fellsider has a comfortable yet contemporary decor with soft fabrics against natural woods. The pub has a large open plan layout, with the dining area on a lower level from the bar area, separated by a few steps.

The Fellsider boasts a good sized catering kitchen, which was upgraded as part of the refurbishment in 2016 and features a theatre style viewing area. The pub is able to host approx. 94 covers.

Externally, the pub has a modern pub look with a soft green painted facade. There is an outside seating area and ample parking next to the pub that is for shared use with the shops.

Private Accommodation

The private accommodation at the Fellsider consists of three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom and where required there will be appropriate works carried out in line with the Star Pubs & Bars Ready to Trade promise.
