The Trident sits on a busy road in a built up residential area, and is close to a good selection of local shops around Shard End Crescent. With over 8,000 adults in a half mile radius there is a good mix of young families and seniors. The pub is also close to Castle Bromwich Shopping Centre which can increase the level of passing trade. With limited competition to rival our offer we will have a truly traditional but modern pub that will cater to many different types of consumers and occasions.

There will be a full refurbishment throughout creating a pub with multiple income streams. This is truly all about a pub at the heart of the community, great amenities that will appeal to young and old alike. There will be a full kitchen upgrade to support the drive on food which will be a welcome additional income stream. We see live sports and entertainment also playing a lead role in the development of this pub.

Our Just Add Talent agreement is perfect for a first time pub operator. You may be from a management background in hospitality or retail - what matters is your passion for great customer service and your ability to lead and motivate a team of staff. Prior experience working in a pub and with food will be essential for this pub due to the refurbishment. A knowledge of the local area will also be preferred.

Just Add Talent is a lower risk and high support agreement which offers a 'foot in the door' to the leased and tenanted industry. With fixed in goings of only £4,000, you will be given the support and training you need to develop your skills and run a successful pub with Star Pubs & Bars.

Trading Area & Facilities

Internally there will be a full redecoration to all trade areas to improve facilities, creating structural improvements to open up the pub and combine the bar side with the lounge area. The existing furniture will be refurbished and recovered to match the new scheme. New flooring throughout the trade area to include feature bar apron, Karndean flooring and new carpet to define the areas. New feature lighting will highlight spaces and accompany the funky interior. New drink shelves and a new AWP machine will be located in the bar area to provide a better experience for drinking customers. When arriving at The Trident, you can either enter at bar entrance or the dining entrance. The areas flow into each other easily because there is a designated transitional lounge space between.

Externally, the pub will have full redecoration as per scheme with an improved signage to increase site visibility. The site will undergo a new and improved external drinking area. This will include new fixed seating and loose furniture sets, festoon lighting and planting, making it more appealing and inviting for customers to come in. A dedicated smoking area will be added to the right side of the pub. Along with the new signage and advertising scheme, these elements will improve the externals and should encourage a range of people to use the space. The pub has a large car park and is situated on the corner of two busy residential roads.

Applicants should be aware that all refurbishments are subject to final board approval which will be determined as part of the leasing process.

Where a significant investment is made in a pub by Star Pubs & Bars, an "Investment Exemption" will be required. The exemption means that the option of a Market Rent Option lease won't be available at rent review for a period of up to seven years for this site, as per The Pub Code (2016).

Private Accommodation

The private accommodation consists of three bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom , separate WC and a lounge and where required there will be appropriate works carried out in line with the Star Pubs & Bars Ready to Trade Promise.
