Traditional Country Pub

The Spanker is located on Spanker Lane, the main through road of Neather Heage. Neather Heage lies between the towns of Belper and Ripley and close to the village of Ambergate and is 15 miles North of Derby. The opening of the pub is vast and welcoming with a large car park at the front entrance.

The previous offer at the Spanker has included a menu consisting of pub classics and home cooked food. Ideally, a similar food offer will be implemented in the pub with the new operator. Cask ales is another key selling point of the pub, with four hand pulls on the bar. There is also huge potential to host live entertainment and community events to drive trade.

Trading Area & Facilities

Internally, the Spanker has one main bar with a dark mahogany servery and plain white tiled back bar. The contrast works very well and gives the bar a traditional and modern aesthetic. There are various different seating areas throughout the cosy pub all decorated with a similar traditional and modern contrast. There is a pool table in its own segregated seating area.

Externally, the pub has a large patio with fixed bench seating which leads out onto a grass area. This area would be an ideal space for hosting community events during the warmer months of the year. At the front entrance is a large car park, allowing for ample cars to park and come in to enjoy a meal.

Private Accommodation

The private accommodation consists of bedrooms, kitchen & bathroom and a lounge and where required there will be appropriate works carried out in line with the Star Pubs & Bars Ready to Trade Promise.
