The Blacks Head will be renamed as The Beacon Hill, showcasing its historic routes as The Beacon Hill was a signalling point for the Carlton area in the 17th Century. The refurbishment will introduce a rustic yet quirky interior, with an attractive contrast of grey-washed timber walls, original tiling and framed artwork. A variety of seating areas, each with its own unique style, will ensure the pub appeals to a wider demographic, who are looking for a great drinks range and a vibrant atmosphere to socialise in.

Trading Area & Facilities

It has three separate trading rooms, a lounge, a sports bar and a snug area. There is also a separate office space.

Great outdoor space with a large walled beer garden close to the main building. Works will include new picnic benches, as well as a section of fixed seating for casual drinking throughout the summer.

The pub exterior, lighting and signage will be refreshed to enhance the visibility of the site.

No car park but close to public transport links.

Please be aware that all refurbishments are subject to final board approval which will be determined as part of the leasing process.

Where a significant investment is made in a pub by Star Pubs & Bars, an "Investment Exemption" will be required. This means that the option of a Market Rent Option lease won't be available at rent review for a period of up to seven years for this site. This applies to all pubs in England & Wales as per The Pub Code (2016).
