Raising the Bar: Star Pubs & Bars Launch New Workshops for our Licensees

You asked, we answered! Following on from feedback from our licensees, Star Pubs and Bars have launched three new workshops designed for you to make the most out of your business. We have the following courses available for all existing licensees:

  • Surfing for Success – all things social media
  • The Customer’s Journey – the art of silent selling
  • Passion for Service – creating spending opportunities

There is absolutely no charge for these courses, that’s our investment. All we ask for is your time. We’re here to help you make more money by driving new business, gain repeat custom and get more customers recommending your business.

Each workshop involves a commitment to making a difference. If you want to drive real change in your business then these workshops are for you. It’s a good idea to bring someone along who’s going to help deliver your objectives, two heads are better than one.

We can run all of these workshops for either a group of licensees or for a multiple licensee and their managers. However, if it’s the latter, we do expect the owner of the business or a member of senior management to be there. We can help you to develop your team, but we need your input and leadership too.

Surfing for Success

Social media has never been more important in reaching your customers. It presents a great opportunity to generate a community feel within your pub by communicating through the right online channels such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

With the Surfing for Success workshop, we’ll advise you on how to:

  • Run advertising campaigns
  • Reach new customers
  • Know when and what to post

You don’t need to be an IT expert but you do need to bring your laptop or tablet. If you’re not going to do it yourself, bring the person who’s going to manage your social media.

Since running this course, licensees that attended have seen a 70% increase in Twitter followers and their Facebook likes are up 28%!

The Customer’s Journey

Want to stand out from the crowd and make sure that your pub is the first pub chosen every time? Look no further! This course is all about how best to present your pub and your products, and to persuade people to visit more and spend more. Just think about the last time you went into a shop for one thing and left having bought something else as well, all because the display caught your eye.

This course was only launched last month, however, having ran a few, over 95% of people who have attended would recommend this to other licensees.

One licensee mentioned: “This course was brilliant. I met some interesting people and learnt a lot from the training team. It was energetic and at the same time highly educational.”

A Passion for Service

We all know that word of mouth travels fast, right? This workshop is practical, pub focused, and is all about that great customer service which gets the customer spending more and coming back more often, and ultimately recommending their friends to visit. We look at simple measures, such as tweaking your staff training and the art of up-selling, which can be employed to really increase your yearly GP.

Some of the key things that are included on the course are:

  • How to get your team on board

We guarantee that no matter what level of experience you have, there is loads of tips and hints to learn what will help you squeeze as much profit out your business as possible!

We run these courses throughout the UK in selected locations. These courses are completely free for existing licensees and you can bring up to two members of your key staff on each course.
