Heavy Metal for Kids Makes Headlines

Jason Hall of Milton Keynes music venue, The Craufurd Arms, made GMTV, ITV news and local headlines with a heavy metal gig for toddlers and youngsters.

The event sold out in two hours and 200 people came to see the band Slay Duggee, who turn popular kid-friendly tunes into metal music. Jason provided ear defenders – secured free of charge from the manufacturers – to attendees. Face painting, soft drinks and ice cream and taco vendors added to the occasion. Whilst Jason has built The Craufurd Arms’ reputation as a serious independent music venue that attracts well-known artists and their fans from around the world, he also optimises the bar-side of the business.

Says Jason: “Many music venues restrict opening times to evenings and concerts. We look to build all-day trade and attract diverse customer groups. Doing something different worked – toddlers and their metal head parents all had a great time.”
